When I’m not trying to look cool in holiday snaps, I’m mostly creating motion design in After Effects and hand drawn animation in Procreate and Adobe Animate.
In 2003 I graduated with a degree in BA (Hons) Communication Design at Northbrook College. Here, I learnt the process of ideas-driven design and illustration.
In 2008 I learnt the fundamentals of animation whilst working at animation studio LSM. I was lucky enough to animate the amusing characters Sneezeman and Drive-by Abuser for the second series of Modern Toss on Channel 4. The writers would constantly tell us “make it more shit”. I also had my spoof iPod ad selected by Onedotzero, which premiered at The ICA, where a very nervous Simon was interviewed on stage to the amusement of his pals.
In 2016 I was inspired by a new wave of animation called ‘motion design’ and set up Manalishi. Since then, I’ve collaborated with loads of brilliant agencies; working on animation projects for the likes of Vodafone, HSBC, Trustpilot, The Labour Party, The LTA, Jo Malone, The Climate Group, Samsung, Deliveroo and SKY. I’ve also enjoyed creating animated music videos for the likes of Masters at Work and DJ Format.
I’m always up for working on new collaborations, so please get in touch!
