Six DJ Format Music Promos

DJ Format commissioned me to create six animated music videos to promote his 2021 LP Devil’s Workshop. The brief was to create dark, psychedelic looped elements to match the vibe of the music. For inspiration, I watched The Beatles’ animated epic Yellow Submarine, which remains one of my favourite animated films.

Each animation started with sketches and moodboards sent for approval, followed by phone calls to discuss ideas.

It was a great opportunity to experiment with hand drawn animation in Procreate. I also got to exploit a lot of effects that After Effects has to offer. I also loved the free reign to design and illustrate different animated characters.
